Nancy and Linzy Johnson

Mal and Lisa,

We have been keeping daily tabs on Mal"s progress!  She is soooooo brave!  We are thinking about you all the time and how strong you are!  We have never been big prayers, we say a little prayer everynight for Mal to get better soon!

I saw that you will be interviewed on Star 94, Sat. around 2:30.  That is about the time that the KMHS cheerleaders should hit the floor at state (if they get out of sectionals tomorrow).  That has to be an omen!  Linzy and I are going down to cheer them on (we still can"t get enough!).  They had a broken ankle last night and had to put an alternate into the routine today.  You have to know that the girls you cheered with will be cheering for you!  I"ll send you another email tomorrow to let you know if they make it to finals.  They compete around 2:45 tomorrow.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Get better fast!

Love,

The Johnson clan

Mal & Lisa-

Reading some of the other posts I saw something about wanting to know about churches praying for you.  One of the strongest Christians I know of is a cousin of mine working as a missionary building a church in Novosibirsk, Siberia; formerly part of the old Soviet Union.  He and I share almost daily via email, and before today ends I believe you"ll be safe in saying that you have a small but growing group of new Christians across the world in Siberia that will be including you in their prayers.  Every prayer helps and counts.

Jeff

Mallory & Lisa -

I just heard today through Lisa Lawrence that you were back in the hospital.  I"m sorry I didn"t know sooner.  You are both in my thoughts and prayers, I"ll be checking your journal regularly to see your progress.  2nd Corint. 4:17, "we have small troubles for awhile..." I"m sure before long you"ll be looking back at this as your "small troubles" as God reveals some of his greater plans for you.  Love to you both.

Jeff

Words cannot express how each of the Smith"s I have had the pleasure to meet have touched my life!  Before any of this happened Lisa, you were such an amazing friend to me and continue to be through everything you all have been through.  You all have taught me the true meaning of family, friends, and faith, THANK YOU!  I have learned not to take the daily things that I think will always be there for granted.  I have learned to appreciate things that I didn"t even think of before, because of the Smith"s.  I have always respected you guys for being such a close family.  Mike, Lisa, Michael, and Mallory, you all are an example of what family is all about, love, pushing, inspiring, and leaning on eachother when the chips are down!  Thank you for opening my eyes to so many aspects of life that I had no clue about.  Mallory you are such an inspiration to me everyday!!  You are so beautiful, funny, sweet, thoughtful, and most of all STRONG!!!  I am blessed to know the Smith"s and Mallory there is no doubt that God has big plans for you!  Love you guys, Kristen

Glad to hear that you laughed a few times yesterday.  Funny thing is, I was praying that you could laugh.  It"s so good for you!

In response to your post about wanting to know the churches praying for you, Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia is praying for you.  My husband is one of the pastors there and they prayed us through the heart transplant this past year.  God is good and His timing is perfect.  I am sure there have been and will continue to be a lot of ways you will see His hand as you pass through this trial.  Hold fast to His promises and lean on Him.

We will continue to pray for you and follow your progress!  Hang Tough!

Under His Wings!

Hi Mallory,

I worked with your Dad at Lever Brothers.  You know it is amazing how God works, I have had Mike on my mind for several weeks now and had been praying for you all.  Not knowing all that you and your family have been through.  I will continue to pray for you all.

I have been through breast cancer two times in the last two years, nothing compared to what you have been through. Health issues are extremely challenging for everyone connected to you, in many ways.  Thank goodness for our "Rock -  Jesus" without Him where would we all be?

My life verse is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

What a comfort to know that His plans for us are great, even when we are walking out difficult circumstances, HE loves us so much.

May God richly bless you all,

We are praying for you,

Lamar and Judy Chapman

Tammy Pigion

Hi Mallory!

My name is Tammy and my son was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma (a children"s liver cancer) at the age of 9 months earlier this year (we are from Canada).  He had 5 rounds of chemo which shrunk his tumour but couldn"t get all of it and couldn"t remove it based on where it was and how dangerous it was to resect.  The only option was transplant.  He had one 3 months ago (I gave him part of my liver) and his is currently doing well.  He is now 18 months and is full of life!  I love knowing your story ended with amazing results and your transplant was a successful one.  I hope all your future dreams comes true (b/c you deserve it!!) and I pray for a long long lifetime of good health and happiness.  Good luck and take care!

Lisa,

You amaze me with your attitude and eloquence when it comes to speaking about Mallory.  Your journal message today made me laugh, cry, and smile.  I think this is a good case of the adults learning from the child.  Mallory is truly a special person and God has so much in store for her and so much love for her that He has brought her through this with the help of wonderful doctors and and even more wonderful family.  We all love you both so much and I can"t even go through an hour or two without wondering what is going on with Mallory.  I think Dr. Romero"s comments are right on: Mallory you are on your way to revovery and to get on with your life.

Sweet dreams in room 468!
